Update November 1, 2022
November 1, 2022
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
As of today, we have two (2) direct care staff members and five (5) residents in our Residential/Assisted Living campus who have tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, we have now tested all residents and staff who we have identified as having potentially high-risk exposure to known COVID-19 cases on campus, and we have also paused all group activities and communal dining through at least Friday. We will retest all staff and residents again as we continue to follow all testing protocols.
In light of this development, and with my apologies, please be advised that we will be postponing the Kick-Off Celebration of our Resident Satisfaction Survey once more. A new date will be communicated to you in the next week or so.
A Reminder About Visitation Guidelines: The most recent State Public Health Officer Order states that skilled nursing facilities are no longer required or recommended to routinely test staff twice weekly and residents once weekly. (Out of an abundance of caution, however, Solheim will maintain its testing capacity and preserve its ability to ramp up testing if routine screening testing is required at some point in the future.) This Health Officer Order also states that skilled nursing facilities are no longer required to verify vaccination status and/or negative test results for general visitors seeking indoor visitation.
Accordingly, the following guidelines apply to ALL visitors in ALL levels of care on our campus:
All visitors will be screened for a recent diagnosis of COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19 infection, and close contact exposure.
All visitors will be offered a COVID-19 test, but testing is not required.
Only essential visitors will be allowed at this time for any residents having tested positive for COVID-19
