September 30, 2022
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
Nominations for our “Employees of the Quarter” will be closing TODAY, September 30th! I invite you to share your recognition of staff members and those good deeds, tangible acts of kindness, extraordinary care, and love shown by our staff. Nominations for our “Employees of the Quarter“ are always welcome, and the “Solheim Feeling” nomination card can be found at nursing stations or at our front desk, or you can fill one out online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition. Your kind words help our staff to better appreciate just how their everyday acts of kindness and compassion help to foster an environment of “Abundant Living” for all of our residents!
Thank you to all who joined us for the Eagle Rock Oktoberfest last Saturday! A good time was had by all, and we especially thank all our faithful volunteers who helped make it happen! We will certainly consider holding it again next year, as we celebrate our Centennial year of service to our community!
Our deadline is closing in quickly to get your tickets to our Solheim Soiree—Paint-n-Sip Virtual Fundraiser to be held on Saturday October 22nd from 7-9pm. This is a combination art lesson and wine tasting led by Pinot’s Palette of Pasadena. Enjoy a painting lesson by a professional artist, while sipping wine in the comfort of your own home! Consider becoming a sponsor if you’re not able to join in the fun! For more information, visit www.solheimsenior.org/paint-n-sip or contact Tina Antypas 323 257-7518 x 225.
This week we have had a change in our visitation guidelines! The most recent State Public Health Officer Order states that skilled nursing facilities are no longer required or recommended to routinely test staff twice weekly and residents once weekly. Solheim will maintain testing capacity and have the ability to ramp up testing in the event routine screening testing is required again at a future date.
The Health Officer Order also states that skilled nursing facilities are no longer required to verify vaccination status and/or negative test results for general visitors seeking indoor visitation. Therefore, effective today, September 30th, the following applies to ALL visitors in all levels of care on our campus:
All visitors will be screened for a recent diagnosis of COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19 infection, and close contact exposure
All visitors will be offered a COVID-19 test, but it is not required
I am pleased to say that a as of today we have no new residents or staff who have tested positive for COVID-19.
If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
