Weekly Update September 23, 2022
September 23, 2022
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
Although yesterday was the first day of Fall, you wouldn’t know it by the temperatures outside! We expect more hot weather in the next week, so please remember to keep hydrated! We have hydration stations throughout campus for your convenience!
I’d also like to mention that although we are creatures of habit, and you might find yourselves sitting at the same table in the Residential Dining Room daily, I’d encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, and choose a different table every once in a while, and spend some time with someone new! Your neighbors have a wealth of experience and stories to share, and you might just make a new friend! Take a chance, and see what happens!
The Eagle Rock Oktoberfest will be hosted right here at Solheim this Saturday, September 24th from 5pm -9pm and is open to our extended community. Please know that our Health Center Parking lot will be closed Friday evening through Saturday evening for this event. This is a true German feast – complete with authentic German Beer and live music provided by the band “Bavarian Stew.” Entrance tickets are $10 (they go up after today), and tickets for food and drink are available at the door. Contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org for more information, visit www.solheimsenior.org/oktoberfest or download the flyer HERE.
As a reminder we will have our COVID-19 Booster Clinic next Thursday, September 29th between 11am and 2pm in the Health Center large activity room. Residents that are interested in receiving this booster should let your nurse know.
Our visitation guidelines remain the same as last week (please be aware that we stop offering rapid tests at 4:30pm). If you come to visit after that time, we ask that you provide your own proof of a negative Covid-19 test result from within the past 48 hours. Our current visitation guidelines are:
All visitors in our Residential, Assisted and Memory Care levels of living on campus may visit indoors if the visitor is fully vaccinated OR provides proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.
All visitors in our Health Center (SNF), including essential visitors who were previously exempt from all visitor testing requirements, must provide one of the following prior to entering the facility for all indoor and in-room visits, REGARDLESS of vaccination status: a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.
Testing is not required for OUTDOOR visitation.
Visitors must always wear a facemask during the visitation and physically distance themselves from facility staff and other residents and visitors that are not part of their group at all times during the visit.
I am pleased to say that a as of today we have no new residents or staff who have tested positive for COVID-19.
