As we continue through the warmest weeks of summer, your health and comfort remain our highest priority. Please remember to stay well hydrated by drinking water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty. We encourage you to take advantage of the hydration stations conveniently located across campus. If you experience any concerns with the air conditioning in your apartment, please notify your nursing station or the Front Desk immediately so we can address the issue as quickly as possible. Your comfort and safety are important to all of us.
As we approach the end of another quarter, we'd also like to remind you about our Solheim Feeling Employee Recognition Program. Our team members are at the heart of what makes Solheim such a special community. Every day, they demonstrate kindness, compassion, dedication, and a genuine commitment to serving others. If a staff member has made a positive difference in your day—whether through exceptional service, a warm smile, or simply going above and beyond—we encourage you to recognize them by completing a Solheim Feeling recognition form. Your nominations help us celebrate those who embody the spirit of Solheim and remind our team how much their efforts are appreciated.
A Moment in Solheim History
As we continue looking ahead, we also enjoy reflecting on the remarkable history that has brought us here. Over 100 years ago, Solheim began on this very property as a modest 12-room cottage, created through the vision of members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church who believed older adults deserved a caring, faith-filled place to call home. That original house welcomed just a handful of residents, but its mission of providing love, dignity, peace, and security laid the foundation for everything Solheim has become today.
Today, while our campus has grown into a vibrant continuing care community serving residents through every stage of aging, the heart of Solheim remains unchanged. We are incredibly proud to have served older adults for more than a century, caring for generations of residents and families while remaining rooted in our founding mission. Thank you for being part of this extraordinary community and helping us continue a legacy that has flourished for over 100 years.
Finally, we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding regarding our transportation schedule. Unfortunately, our large community bus will be out of service for approximately the next 2½ weeks while repairs are completed. As a result, the remaining outings scheduled for July and the beginning of August will need to be postponed or rescheduled. Our Activities team is already working to adjust the calendar and will share updated dates as soon as they become available. We appreciate your flexibility and look forward to resuming our regular outings as quickly as possible.
