Weekly Update July 17, 2026

July 17, 2026

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

As temperatures continue to climb, we encourage everyone to stay hydrated and take extra care during these warm summer days. Be sure to take advantage of the hydration stations conveniently located throughout campus and enjoy our beautiful outdoor spaces during the cooler parts of the day. Your health and safety remain our highest priorities. If you are experiencing any issues with your apartment air conditioner, please notify your nursing staff or the Front Desk as soon as possible so we can assist you promptly.

We continue to transition to the Mealsuite Portal, making meal ordering easier, more personalized, and more convenient for residents and their families. The online portal allows users to view daily menus, place meal orders in advance, and ensures meal selections align with each resident's dietary needs.

As part of this transition, paper menus will continue to be available for residents, but will no longer be provided to family members. We encourage families and responsible parties to begin using the online Mealsuite Portal for meal selections.

If you would like assistance getting started, training and office hours are available in the Skilled Nursing Small Dining Room from 4:00–6:00 p.m. on the scheduled training dates. Staff will be available to help download the app, sign in, and answer any questions.  Please contact Andrea Megel, Director of Dining Services, at (323) 257-7518, ext. 220.

Join us on Wednesday, July 22, for a trip to the Santa Monica Farmers Market! Residents will help select fresh seasonal fruits for our campus while enjoying one of Southern California's premier farmers markets. You're also welcome to purchase items for yourself, so we encourage you to bring cash for any personal purchases.

Space is limited, so please sign up with Ashley Brayman at abrayman@solheimsenior.org.

Then, on Thursday, July 23 at 3:00 p.m., we're bringing the Farmers Market experience right here to Solheim! Join us on the Skilled Nursing Patio to sample a wonderful variety of fresh stone fruits, melons, and other seasonal treats. It's a fun opportunity to enjoy the flavors of summer with friends and neighbors—just like visiting your favorite local farmers market.

As always, thank you for helping make Solheim such a warm, caring, and vibrant community. We hope you have a wonderful week and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming activities!

Masks for all visitors to our campus will be available upon request.

Questions may be directed to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 extension 225 or at tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
