Weekly Update July 10, 2026
July 10, 2026
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
We hope you are enjoying these beautiful summer days! With the warmer temperatures upon us, this is a great reminder to stay well hydrated. Drinking plenty of water helps maintain energy, supports healthy circulation, aids digestion, and can even improve concentration and overall well-being. If you're spending time outdoors, be sure to bring a bottle of water along and take advantage of the many hydration stations and shady seating areas throughout campus.
Summer is also the perfect time to enjoy all that our beautiful grounds have to offer. Whether you're reading a good book, visiting with friends, or simply relaxing in one of our peaceful outdoor spaces, we encourage you to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and make the most of our wonderful campus.
We're delighted to welcome hairdresser Connie Truong back to Solheim! Connie has resumed appointments beginning this week and is once again available to help our residents look and feel their best. To schedule an appointment, please contact Connie directly at (323) 823-9992. We are so happy to have her back as part of our Solheim family.
Our calendar is filled with wonderful opportunities to learn, socialize, and stay engaged.
Next week, be sure to attend Resident Council and Town Hall, where residents can hear important community updates, ask questions, share ideas, and learn about what's happening throughout Solheim. Your participation helps make our community stronger.
On Tuesday, July 14, at 2:00 p.m., we invite you to Meet the Artist: Ralph Massey, whose beautiful artwork is featured in our front lobby. Mr. Massey will share his artistic journey and the inspiration behind his work, offering a wonderful opportunity to celebrate creativity, lifelong learning, and abundant living.
The Library Committee will meet on Wednesday, July 15, at 1:30 p.m., and the following Saturday we invite everyone to join our Book Club. Reading together not only introduces us to new ideas and perspectives, but the conversations and friendships that grow from discussing a good book are just as rewarding as the stories themselves. Whether you're an avid reader or simply curious, we'd love to have you join us.
Looking ahead, mark your calendars for Thursday, July 23, when our popular Farmers Market returns to the Skilled Nursing patio. It's a wonderful opportunity to taste fresh seasonal produce and enjoy time with neighbors. We're also looking forward to an outing to the Museum of Neon Art, where residents will experience the fascinating history, artistry, and colorful creativity of neon.
Finally, we'd like to extend a heartfelt welcome to our newest residents. We are delighted you've chosen Solheim as your home and hope you'll take advantage of the many activities, events, and friendships that make our community so special. We encourage everyone to introduce yourselves and help our newest neighbors feel right at home.
Masks for all visitors to our campus will be available upon request.
