Weekly Update June 12, 2026
June 12, 2026
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
As we move into warmer summer weather, please remember to stay hydrated and take care of yourself. We are fortunate to have many beautiful spaces around campus to enjoy, whether you're taking a stroll, visiting with friends, or simply finding a shady spot to relax and recharge. Let's make the most of these sunny days while staying safe and healthy.
As we near the end of the quarter, we encourage residents, family members, and staff to participate in our Solheim Feeling Recognition Program. Have you experienced a staff member who consistently demonstrates kindness, compassion, exceptional service, or goes above and beyond to create the Solheim Feeling? We'd love to hear about it. Your nominations help us recognize those who make a meaningful difference in our community every day.
Each quarter, one employee from each department is selected for recognition, and all quarterly honorees become eligible for our annual Employee of the Year award. Solheim Feeling nomination cards can be found at the nursing stations and front desk, or you can submit a nomination online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition. Your kind words and recognition mean more than you know.
Thank you to everyone for your patience and flexibility this week as tree trimming took place across campus. This important maintenance work helps keep our grounds beautiful, healthy, and safe for all who live, work, and visit here.
We are excited to invite residents, families, and friends to our next Dinner Under the Stars event for the Health Center on Thursday, June 18, from 5:00–6:00 p.m. This month's theme is Greece, featuring an evening filled with delicious Mediterranean dishes, laughter, and seaside vibes. Good food, good friends, and a little OPA! spirit await! The cost is $25 per guest, and space is limited. To RSVP, please contact Tammy at trollice@solheimsenior.org.
Our residents enjoyed a wonderful outing to the Flower Market this week. The colorful blooms, fresh air, and time spent together made for a fun and memorable trip.
We would also like to extend a warm welcome to the new Board Members who were elected during our Annual Meeting. We appreciate their willingness to serve and look forward to their contributions to Solheim's future.
Looking ahead, we are pleased to launch a new educational series, History of Literature with Rob, beginning next week. Join us on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Fountain Room as we explore the fascinating stories, authors, and works that have shaped literature throughout history.
As always, be sure to check the community calendar for additional activities, events, and opportunities to connect throughout the week.
Masks for all visitors to our campus will be available upon request.
