As we welcome the month of June, we enter a season filled with celebration, connection, and new beginnings. This time of year brings many special moments, from graduations and summer vacations to family gatherings and the arrival of warmer, longer days. It is also a time when we honor fathers and father figures as we look ahead to Father's Day later this month. June reminds us to appreciate the people who have shaped our lives while embracing the opportunities and adventures that a new season brings.
At Solheim, June is already off to a wonderful start with a full calendar of activities, outings, entertainment, and opportunities to gather with friends and neighbors. During the week ahead, residents can enjoy everything from music, exercise classes, bingo, coffee gatherings, and educational programs to special events including the Pasadena Pro Musica concert outing, Spa Day, therapeutic gardening, and an afternoon performance by the Fried Music School.
We especially encourage residents to participate in two important community meetings this week. On Tuesday, June 9, the Resident Council will meet, providing an opportunity for residents to share ideas, voice concerns, and help shape life at Solheim. Later in the week, the Resident Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, June 11, offers another chance to learn about community updates, ask questions, and contribute suggestions. These gatherings are an important part of what makes Solheim such a vibrant and engaged community, and resident participation is always welcomed and valued.
As temperatures begin to rise, please remember to stay hydrated and take advantage of the beautiful outdoor spaces around campus. Whether enjoying a cup of coffee on a patio, taking a walk with friends, participating in an outdoor activity, or simply relaxing in the sunshine, spending time outdoors can be a wonderful way to enjoy the season while supporting your health and well-being.
Finally, a reminder that Solheim's Annual Meeting of the Corporation will be held this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. via Zoom. This meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the organization's accomplishments, current initiatives, and future plans. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to email tantypas@solheimsenior.org to request the Zoom link.
