Weekly Update April 24, 2026
April 24, 2026
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
Tomorrow, Saturday the 25th, Solheim will host a Drive-Through Shredding Event from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (or until the truck fills up) in our Skilled Nursing parking lot. This event is open to the public, so please feel free to invite family and friends. There’s something especially satisfying about a little spring cleaning, and we’re happy to offer this convenient and secure service to our community.
To help ensure a smooth and safe “drive-through” experience, the Skilled Nursing parking lot will be closed to regular parking during event hours. Traffic will follow a one-way flow, and team members will be on hand to assist and guide vehicles through the process. We appreciate your cooperation in helping make this a convenient experience for everyone.
We have recently upgraded our phone system throughout campus. We appreciate your patience as our team becomes familiar with the new features. During this transition, there may be an occasional dropped call or misdirected transfer—please know this is unintentional, and we truly appreciate your understanding. In the long run, this upgrade will allow us to serve you more efficiently and enhance communication across campus.
Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate Team Member Appreciation Week from May 4th through May 8th. Each day will feature a different theme along with special treats and activities to recognize the incredible dedication of our staff—those who bring the Solheim Feeling to life every day through kindness, compassion, and joy in service.
We welcome support from our community during this special week. Whether by sponsoring a full day, contributing to part of a day, or making a gift in honor of our team, your generosity helps us celebrate those who give so much to our residents. You can contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org to contribute.
We also invite you to take part in our Solheim Feeling Employee Recognition Program. A few kind words can go a long way—recognition from residents, families, and colleagues means more than you might imagine. These nominations not only brighten someone’s day but are also used in selecting our Employees of the Quarter.
If a staff member has made a difference in your life, we encourage you to share your appreciation. Recognition forms are available at the nursing stations and front desk, or online at: www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition
Finally, I would like to share a brief organizational update. As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen operational alignment, we have welcomed Mike Abraham as our new Nursing Home Administrator. Mike will initially report to Meg Spurlin, Chief Operating Officer, ensuring strong coordination and support during his transition while maintaining our high standards of care.
All staff working on our Skilled Nursing Campus are required to wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to the Health Center are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test prior to entry.
Questions may be directed to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 extension 225 or at tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
