Weekly Update January 30, 2026

January 30, 2026
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

At our recent Resident Council and Town Hall meetings, several questions were raised regarding the safety pendant system. I would like to take this opportunity to share a few important reminders. Upon moving into Solheim, all Residential residents receive a safety pendant, and we strongly encourage you to wear it at all times. If you need immediate assistance, you may press the button on your pendant. A red light will flash, indicating that the connection has been made. Please note that it is not true that pressing the pendant again will cancel the request. The pendant is intended for emergency-type situations. For routine assistance, residents should call the front desk or your nursing station using the phone numbers provided in the Welcome Booklet. If you experience any issues with your pendant or feel it is not working properly, please notify us right away so we can address the concern. Thank you for helping us maintain this important safety measure.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of Marie Garnett our Director of Nursing. We are grateful for Marie’s contributions and for the care and professionalism she brought to both residents and staff and respect her decision to step down from her role.  We wish her well in her future endeavors and pray for God’s guidance and blessing in her next chapter. Please be assured that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure continuity of care and operations. If you need assistance during this transition, please reach out to Cheryl Armas, Assistant Director of Nursing. We understand that leadership changes can raise questions or concerns, and we remain steadfast in our mission and commitment to doing what is best for those entrusted to our care. Scripture reminds us: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10). This continues to guide our leadership and our dedication to abundant living for our residents.

As you may already know we launched our Resident Satisfaction Survey, and we encourage all residents and family members to participate. Your feedback is essential in helping guide decisions and strengthen our community. As a reminder a separate email has been sent with survey details. Paper copies are also available at the front desk and may be returned there. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and help us continue improving life at Solheim.

All staff working on our Skilled Nursing Campus are required to wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to the Health Center are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test prior to entry.
