Weekly Update June 23, 2023
June 23, 2023
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
This evening is our highly anticipated Solheim Senior Prom! All week long, our Beauty Salon has been booked solid with appointments for spa treatments, haircuts and hair-do’s, and manicures and pedicures. Residents have been submitting their nominations – and we look forward to imminently crowning our Prom King and Queen at this evening’s festivities! Attendees will enjoy live music, dancing, cocktails and light appetizers… I’m really looking forward to being able to announce our winners and share some photos from the evening next week!
As a reminder, next Wednesday, June 28th from 9am to 3:30pm, we are partnering with Huntington Hospital to host their Blood Mobile. This opportunity is open to staff and our greater community as part of our Centennial celebrations throughout the year! If you’d like to RSVP to give blood, please contact our front desk, or Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
The end of June is right around the corner, and I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you about our Employee Recognition program! We will soon be recognizing our 2nd Quarter Employees of the Quarter, and I encourage you to submit your nominations through our “Solheim Feeling” nomination cards. Forms may be found at the nursing stations, our front desk, or you may submit one online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition . Nominations are open until June 30th!
Our Cabling and Wi-Fi projects seem to be a topic of interest, so I’m pleased to give another update and confirm that the re-cabling should be completed by the end of this month. That means that our Wi-Fi service in our common areas should be more consistent throughout campus, eliminating the “dead spot” areas that currently have poor service. Once this is complete, we’ll be positioned to continue moving forward with deploying our In-House TV Channel and Cable project, as well getting individual Wi-Fi hook ups in all of our Residential and Assisted Living Apartments. I appreciate your patience as we work on these major improvements!
Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged from last week. Masks are no longer required for residents, team members, or visitors, although they are still recommended or encouraged. Masks are still required for all team members and visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing). All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry. We ask all staff and visitors to confirm the following upon entry:
Currently have no known COVID-19 infection;
Not experiencing symptoms associated with possible COVID-19 infection; and
Have not had close contact, within the last 14 days, with another person known to have a COVID-19 infection
As of today, we have no new staff or residents who have tested positive for Covid-19. If
