To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
As we approach the warmer days of Spring and Summer, we’re focusing on getting our outdoor spaces ready for use. As many of you will remember, last year we renovated a number of spaces throughout campus which are available for residents to enjoy – whether it’s to sit out and read, or to spend time socializing in the sun with other residents or guests. And on a related note, one of the initiatives that we’re currently working on is to provide for more robust outdoor dining opportunities! We’ve set a goal to raise $3,500 to help offset the cost of purchasing additional tables to use for that purpose – and your generous donations toward our “Activities Fund” can help us to reach that goal! If you’d like to donate, you can always drop off a physical check at the front desk with ‘Activities’ in the memo, or visit our website at www.solheimsenior.org/giving and select the “Activities Fund”.
At our Resident Town Hall Meeting yesterday, we took the opportunity to remind our Merton & Manor residents that we have now moved over to a “hotel style” apartment cleaning schedule. This means that our Housekeeping team now moves down the corridor and cleans private apartments in the order in which they are physically placed within each hall – and as a result, although residents still have set DAYS for their scheduled private room cleaning, there are no longer any fixed TIMES. This change has already been implemented for several months, and it has been allowing us to improve the efficiency of our hardworking Housekeeping team. If you have any questions or concerns about housekeeping issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Erica Tamayo or Adam Yarian.
Another important reminder: Our hairdresser, Linda, will be back in the Salon on Wednesday April 19th. Please feel free to schedule your next hair appointment with her by calling 323-540-3158!
For the “Spring Cleaners” among us, please plan to take advantage of our upcoming “Community Shredding and E-Waste Drop-off Event,” which will be held on Friday April 21st from 9am to Noon. Any residents who have e-waste or items to shred should feel free to reach out directly to Ashley Brayman for help with coordinating pick up. To view our full flyer with more details, CLICK HERE!
You can always visit our website for more information at www.solheimsenior.org, but if you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged. All Solheim visitors and staff members must conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry. We ask all staff and visitors to confirm the following upon entry:
Currently have no known COVID-19 infection;
Not experiencing symptoms associated with possible COVID-19 infection; and
Have not had close contact, within the last 14 days, with another person known to have a COVID-19 infection
As of today, we have no new residents or staff who have tested positive for Covid-19.
If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
