Weekly Update March 24, 2023
March 24, 2023
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
This Wednesday, residents were joined for lunch in our Residential Dining Room by members of our Leadership Team! I know some folks might have been surprised to come in and find someone sitting in your seat – but I’ve received good comments overall (and frankly I think that sometimes it’s good to “shake things up” a little), and we hope to do this again on a monthly basis. We think that it’s a wonderful way for everyone to meet new people, and strike up new conversations with table mates that you don’t usually sit with! Thank you for being willing participants, and our Leadership Team looks forward to joining you for lunch again next month.
As I mentioned last week, Solheim is very pleased to invite up to 2 family members of each of our residents to a special Easter Lunch which will take place at 12:30 pm on Wednesday April 5th, (for a cost of $30 per person). The deadline to RSVP to this event is Thursday, March 30th. An invitation will be sent out separately. For more information, please contact Ashley Brayman at abrayman@solheimsenior.org.
I am pleased to announce that Solheim will be hosting a “Community Shredding and E-Waste Drop-off Event” on Friday April 21st from 9am to noon, as part of our Centennial Celebrations! You can start your Spring Cleaning now and gather your shredding and e-waste together in preparation! Remember to visit our Centennial website at www.solheimsenior.org/100 to learn more about upcoming opportunities. For more information, please contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
Visitation Guidelines have been updated. It is the policy of Solheim Senior Community to support visitation on campus in a manner that both preserves and respects residents’ rights while also simultaneously abiding by all current regulations and guidelines that have been promulgated by the LA County Public Health Department, CDPH, and CMS.
Accordingly, all Solheim visitors and staff members must conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry. We ask all staff and visitors to confirm the following upon entry:
1) Currently have no known COVID-19 infection;
2) Not experiencing symptoms associated with possible COVID-19 infection; and
3) Have not had close contact, within the last 14 days, with another person known to have a COVID-19 infection
As of today, we have no new residents or staff who have tested positive for Covid-19.
