At this time a year ago in our newsletter we were talking about Summer temperatures rather than Spring. We can all agree that we have had quite an interesting start to the year with wind, rain, snow, blizzards and weather we’re not used to here in Southern California! As we turn the corner to the 2nd quarter of the year, I’m hoping for more sun, yet am thankful for the rain God has blessed us with, as we certainly needed it.

Speaking of the 2nd Quarter, we are reviewing the nominations for our “Solheim Feeling” Employees of The Quarter, and as always, we greatly welcome your kind words and accolades. You may submit a nomination online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition or find a form at our front desk and nursing stations! Get those in right away to be counted towards the 1st Quarter nominations!

Don’t forget, today is the deadline for reservations for our Spring Lunch. Solheim is very pleased to invite up to 2 family members of each of our residents to this special Spring Lunch which will take place at 12:30 pm on Wednesday April 5th, (for a cost of $30 per person). For more information, please contact Ashley Brayman at abrayman@solheimsenior.org.

On March 30th each year, National Doctors Day honors the professionals for their dedication and contributions to society and the community. Solheim Senior Community celebrates and recognizes the contributions of physicians, especially our Medical Director Dr. Yu, and Associate Medical Director Dr. Rojas, to our residents and their families and for helping create an abundant life for all! Thank you! We appreciate your dedication to our senior community.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for our “Community Shredding and E-Waste Drop-off Event” on Friday April 21st from 9am to noon, as part of our Centennial Celebrations! Remember to visit our Centennial website at www.solheimsenior.org/100 to learn more about upcoming opportunities. Contact Tina Antypas for more information.

Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged. All Solheim visitors and staff members must conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry. We ask all staff and visitors to confirm the following upon entry:

  • Currently have no known COVID-19 infection;

  • Not experiencing symptoms associated with possible COVID-19 infection; and

  • Have not had close contact, within the last 14 days, with another person known to have a COVID-19 infection

As of today, we have no new residents or staff who have tested positive for Covid-19.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
