Weekly Update February 17, 2023
February 17, 2023|
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
This past week, Solheim was all about LOVE! Residents enjoyed a special Valentine’s Day meal finished off with chocolate covered strawberries, but it didn’t end there! Fresh flowers decorated the campus, and thanks to our donors, residents received a beautiful mug with fresh flowers and stuffed animals! I was able to personally deliver a few of these, and it was wonderful seeing the joy and smiles on our resident’s faces. The entertainment of love songs and beautiful piano music resonated through the halls and topped off our Valentine’s Day activities. Thank you to all who helped “spread the love”. It’s what Solheim is all about!
As important as it is that we hear from our residents and their responsible parties through our Resident Satisfaction Survey, it is equally important for us to hear from our Staff. In the coming weeks, we will be rolling out our Employee Satisfaction Survey. These surveys will give our staff an opportunity to share vital input that will help us understand areas of focus and improvement in the coming year.
And in speaking of Staff, the 1st Quarter of the year is just around the corner, which means we will be selecting our ‘Employees of the Quarter’ soon. Please be sure to nominate any employees and share your kind words through our Solheim Feeling nomination card that can be found at the front desk or any nursing stations. You may also nominate an employee online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition.
We’ve recently mailed out a ‘Save the Date’ postcard for our Centennial Masquerade Ball to be held on Saturday October 28th 2023 at the La Canada Flintridge Country Club. Please be sure to mark your calendar, and keep an eye out for an opportunity to sponsor, underwrite or advertise with us in support of our Centennial Year! For more information visit our Centennial website at www.solheimsenior.org/100 which is updated with new information regularly!
Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged. Proof of negative COVID-19 tests are no longer required; however, you may request a rapid test if you desire.
All visitors will be screened for a recent diagnosis of COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19 infection, and close contact exposure.
As of today, we have no new residents or staff who have tested positive for Covid-19.
