To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible dads, grandfathers, and father figures who inspire, support, and love so generously. Your role is of immeasurable importance—not only in the lives of your children and families, but also as a reflection of our Heavenly Father’s love and guidance. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 20:7, “The righteous who walks in his integrity—blessed are his children after him!”  And in Psalm 103:13, “As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.”   We celebrate and honor you this weekend for your faithful leadership, steadfast care, and enduring influence.

To help mark the occasion, you’re welcome to invite family and friends to join us for our Father’s Day lunch. Guest meals are $33 per person. If you're expecting more than four guests, please RSVP in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Believe it or not, the first day of summer is just around the corner—next Friday! As the season’s warmth rolls in, we look forward to sunny smiles, cheerful gatherings, and fresh seasonal experiences. With temperatures continuing to rise, please remember to stay hydrated and sun-safe. Water stations are located throughout the campus, and if you need anything at all, just ask—we’re here to help!

We have a wonderful week ahead. On Tuesday, June 17, we’ll enjoy a full-day outing to the Reagan Library, with a cost of $27. Please sign up at the front desk to reserve your spot. On Wednesday, June 18, at 6:30 PM, we’ll gather in the Chapel for a delightful performance by JoJo’s—a piano and vocal program filled with beloved tunes. Then, on Friday, June 20, we’ll welcome the first day of summer with a Beach Party Happy Hour in the Wellness Center at 3:00 PM. For additional details, tune in to Channel 1390 or refer to the printed calendar.

A reminder that Solheim’s Employee Education Assistance Fund is a meaningful way we support our dedicated team. This program helps staff pursue higher education and professional development. The 2024 fund has been fully depleted, and we already have a scholarship application pending. We hope to replenish the fund soon, and your contributions can make a real and lasting difference in the lives of the caregivers who help our community thrive. To donate, please contact Tina Antypas or visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate.

Looking ahead, we’re pleased to announce that Solheim will host a Blood Drive on Thursday, June 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in partnership with Huntington Health and Cedars Sinai. June is National Blood Donor Month, a perfect time to take part in this lifesaving opportunity. Every donation helps save lives, and all donors will receive a $10 In-N-Out or Amazon gift card as a thank-you. Please remember to eat a healthy meal, drink plenty of water, and bring your driver’s license. To register, scan the QR code on the flyers throughout the community or follow the posted link.

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
