Weekly Update June 6, 2025
June 6, 2025
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
As we welcome June, the summer season is already bringing sunshine, warm breezes, and opportunities to come together as a community. Whether you’re enjoying a morning stroll through our shaded gardens, relaxing with neighbors in the courtyards, or staying cool indoors with one of our many enrichment activities, we hope this month brings you comfort, connection, and joy.
With temperatures continuing to rise, please remember to stay hydrated and sun-safe. Water, hydrating snacks, and assistance from staff are always available—just ask. Light clothing, sun hats, and early morning or evening outdoor visits are strongly encouraged.
We’re also excited to announce that Solheim will be hosting a Blood Drive on Thursday, June 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in partnership with Huntington Health and Cedars Sinai. June is National Blood Donor Month, making it the perfect time to take part in this lifesaving opportunity. Every blood donation can help save a life, and all donors will receive a $10 In-N-Out or Amazon gift card in appreciation. Please remember to eat a healthy meal, drink plenty of water beforehand, and bring your driver’s license. To register, scan the QR code on the flyer posted throughout the community or visit the link here: BLOOD DRIVE
Looking at the June calendar, we have a full lineup of engaging events and activities. Highlights include Thoughtful Thursdays, Movie Matinees, music performances on the patios, Father’s Day celebrations on June 15, Coffee with Sam, a Health Q&A with Mike Gonzales, and plenty of group games and wellness sessions. Tune in to Channel 1390 or check the printed calendar for more details.
A friendly note on maintenance: for non-urgent repairs or requests, please use a Work Order form, which is available at the Front Desk or Nursing Stations. Our goal is to address these within 72 hours. For urgent matters such as leaks or safety hazards, notify a staff member immediately so we can respond quickly.
All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
