Weekly Update October 18, 2024
October 18, 2024
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
Voting is a fundamental right and an important way to ensure our voices are heard. At Solheim Senior Community, we understand how vital it is for everyone, including our residents, to have the opportunity to participate in the democratic process. We are committed to supporting our residents in any way we can to help them get out and vote. On October 22nd at 10am in our Navigage Room, we are hosting an educational session with the Election Forum, a non-partisan nonprofit organization, to inform and empower our community about the voting process. We encourage everyone to join! Solheim will be offering transportation if you are interested in heading to the polls on election day! Please reach out to Ashley Brayman with any questions at abrayman@solheimsenior.org.
In the spirit of abundant living, we have some festive Halloween activities coming up that align with our mission to create a joyful, engaging environment for our residents. On Thursday, October 24th at 1:30 pm, join us for a creative hat-making session to prepare for our Halloween costume contest. This is a wonderful opportunity to express creativity, socialize, and enjoy the camaraderie of our community. Additionally, on October 29th at 3:00 pm, we are thrilled to welcome Monica Schober for her 'Halloween Foolishness' program. Monica, a gifted soprano with performances alongside the Los Angeles Philharmonic and her European debut at Esterházy Palace, will delight us with a playful mix of characters, including demigoddesses, ghouls, nuns, and witches. Don’t miss these chances to engage and celebrate together!
Residents can check their monthly calendars, Weekly Informers, or tune into Solheim’s In-House Channel 1390 for the latest updates and schedule changes.
Our annual “Resident Satisfaction Survey” has begun. Once again this year, we will be offering this survey digitally – but rest assured, we will be happy to assist you in any way that we can. These surveys will be available for our residents (or their Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare). Many residents have filled out our paper survey, and our digital survey will be released next week. These are important tools for Solheim to get a sense of how it is doing in the eyes of our residents, and to help us identify opportunity to improve as we head into 2025. This survey provides us with the chance to review our performance this year versus the previous year, and an updated baseline to start 2025 with a focus on continuing to improve our operations. I thank you in advance for your participation!
All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
