Weekly Update September 13, 2024

September 13, 2024

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

As mentioned during yesterday’s Resident Town Hall meeting, we’re entering Flu season, and Solheim will once again be offering residents the Flu Vaccine.  We will be collecting consents and providing flu vaccines to all residents in Residential/Assisted Living and Halvorson neighborhood next week. If you reside in Merton & Manor, you may visit our Nurse in Sunburst Nursing Station Monday-Friday between 10:00-11:30 am or 1:00-2:30 pm to sign your consent and receive your flu vaccine. For residents who reside in our Halvorson neighborhood, we will begin calling our residents’ Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care to collect consents on Saturday. For residents with Kaiser health insurance, Solheim will collect and submit consent forms to Kaiser. Kaiser will then supply flu vaccines to Solheim to administer the vaccines on-site.

As fall quickly approaches, it brings a season of gratitude and reflection, and the opportunity to express appreciation for our dedicated staff. While tips are not allowed, you can make a monetary donation that will be equally distributed among all staff members during the winter holidays. Additionally, you are always welcome to share encouraging words by filling out a Solheim Feeling Employee Recognition nomination card, available at the front desk or nursing stations, or by visiting us online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition. These thoughtful messages truly brighten our staff's day! To make a monetary gift, please visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate and select 'Employee Appreciation’.  You may reach out to Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org for more information or to set up a systematic gift.

Also as a reminder, we have a Refer-a-Friend” program which is still underway!  Any resident who refers a friend to Solheim will receive an incentive when that referral moves into our community and becomes part of the “Solheim Family.” And in fact, it’s even better than that: Both the current resident and the referred resident will also receive a $1,000 credit on their fourth month’s rent.  Please contact Emily Pierce for more information about this program at 323-257-7518 or email epierce@solheimsenior.org.

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask, and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
