Weekly Update September 6, 2024
September 6, 2024
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
An excessive heat warning has been issued for Southern California. The temperatures are expected to be extremely high over the next few days. We encourage everyone to stay safe and take extra precautions. Here are some tips to stay healthy during this time:
1. Stay Indoors: Avoid going outside during peak heat hours (10 AM - 6 PM). Stay in air-conditioned areas.
2. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
3. Dress Light: Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing to stay cool.
4. Limit Physical Activity: Avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day.
5. Check on Neighbors: Ensure others in the community are also staying cool and hydrated.
If you feel overheated or unwell, or are having any issues with your air conditioning in your apartment, please reach out to your nursing station or the front desk immediately! Let’s all look out for each other, and stay cool and safe!
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Solheim’s Board of Directors for their continued support. It is a true pleasure to serve alongside such a dedicated team, all committed to the well-being of our senior residents. The collective focus on ensuring the health, safety, and happiness of our residents reflects the compassion and dedication that drives our mission. We are truly fortunate to work together in making a positive impact in the lives of our seniors. I am thankful for our Board of Directors’ ongoing commitment!
All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask, and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
