To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
As we navigate through this period of extreme heat, it's crucial to prioritize staying hydrated, especially for those who are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses. Adequate hydration helps regulate body temperature and maintain essential bodily functions. We have established hydration stations throughout the campus to ensure easy access to water. Please make use of these stations regularly to keep yourself hydrated and safe. Let's look out for each other and stay cool!
As we mentioned at yesterday’s Resident Town Hall meeting, we’ll begin implementing a new ordering system in our Residential Dining Room. We appreciate your patience as we initiate these upgrades. We’ll begin using a new tablet-based system for ordering meals to improve service! This is new technology, and it is new for staff as well. You may be asked a few additional questions when ordering your meals to make sure your meal is accurate and complete. Please reach out to our Director of Dining Services Andrea Megel if you have any questions.
In addition to this new technology in our dining department, we’re testing out some new robotic technology that assists with our infection control protocols in our environmental services department. This includes automated window cleaners, vacuum cleaners, and mops, among other areas that can benefit from automation. These advancements will allow our team to dedicate more time to face-to-face resident services.
Just a reminder: we have numerous activities on our monthly calendar. For the latest daily activities, be sure to check your Weekly Informer and our Solheim In-House Channel 1390. We will continue to enhance the information provided on this channel, so make a habit of tuning in regularly!
All staff must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator in resident care areas or any areas where residents may be present. Visitors will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test and a mask before entry, regardless of vaccination status, and symptomatic visitors are encouraged to return after recovery or wear a mask. Visitors who test positive for COVID-19 are not allowed to visit, and those refusing the test or mask should avoid others and visit in a well-ventilated, designated space.
