"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." - John 15:13
As we approach Memorial Day, let us count our blessings and honor those who served to protect our country and our freedom. We are forever grateful for the ultimate sacrifice of those who died for the United States of America. May their courage and dedication never be forgotten. "The memory of the righteous is a blessing" - Proverbs 10:7.
We are excited to announce our continued partnership with the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy as a training site for Occupational Therapy Students completing their Level 1 Fieldwork. Starting this past Tuesday, May 21st, we have a group of 4-6 students on campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 9 weeks. They will be learning about senior living and our community as they get to know our residents by helping to support and lead wellness activities!
Solheim has historically been a favored partner for various local schools to work with as they train their students – so we’re thrilled to continue to build on that legacy as we also strengthen our budding relationship with USC and look forward to helping to train new students in the healthcare field. Be sure to give them a warm Solheim welcome when you see them on-site!
As a reminder, our Annual Meeting of the Corporation is scheduled for Sunday, June 9th at 4 PM. Once again, this year, our Annual Meeting will be held virtually. We will be presenting new Board Members for consideration to join our Solheim Board of Directors. This meeting is a gathering of delegates from our ELCA church congregations and other interested parties.
If you would like to join us for our Annual Meeting, please contact Tina Antypas to request a link through which you will be able to digitally access this (virtual) meeting.
Masks are strongly recommended for visitors. Staff are no longer required to wear a mask in the Health Center/Skilled Nursing campus. All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.
If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
