Weekly Update May 31, 2024
May 31, 2024
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
I am delighted by the enthusiasm surrounding our Resident Library Committee and their diligent efforts in cataloging and organizing books throughout our campus. I am also thrilled to announce that, thanks to our generous donors, we have successfully met our fundraising goal to support the rejuvenation of our library and resources.
Each month, our resident-led Library Committee will share their featured selections, with June’s focus on short stories! These short stories are available for checkout in our Sun Room. Whether you are an avid reader or just beginning, short stories offer a fantastic way to broaden your horizons. Be sure to visit the Sun Room and explore the curated collection of short stories just for you!
A special thanks to our committee members and community volunteers for their dedication in making the Library Expansion a wonderful opportunity to encourage more people to engage in reading.
Speaking of reading, you may also consider joining Solheim’s Book Club, which meets the 3rd Saturday of every month at 10am. Now is a perfect time to join, as a new book has been chosen! Please contact Ashley Brayman abrayman@solheimsenior.org for more information, and to order your copy.
As a reminder, our Annual Meeting of the Corporation is scheduled for Sunday, June 9th at 4 PM. Once again, this year, our Annual Meeting will be held virtually. We will be presenting new Board Members for consideration to join our Solheim Board of Directors. This meeting is a gathering of delegates from our ELCA church congregations and other interested parties. If you would like to join us for our Annual Meeting, please contact Tina Antypas to request a link through which you will be able to digitally access this (virtual) meeting.
Masks are strongly recommended for visitors. Staff are no longer required to wear a mask in the Health Center/Skilled Nursing campus. All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.
If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
