Weekly Update July 30, 2021
July 30, 2021
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
Last Saturday, I was thrilled to host the first Family Dinner in our Halvorson Neighborhood to take place on campus since my arrival at Solheim. It was a beautiful day, and our Halvorson residents and their guests all seemed to really enjoy the newly renovated courtyard area! We’ve received many notes of thanks, and I just wanted to briefly share one: “Thank you for a wonderful luncheon. It was an outstanding example of Solheim's commitment to excellence. We know that mom really appreciated the event, as we did. Please pass on our appreciation and thank you’s to the chef, servers, helpers and everyone else who made the event so meaningful and successful.” I strongly believe that special events like these are an important part of what makes our community a community, and you can rest assured that (COVID permitting) we will continue to offer these types of gatherings and events across campus moving forward.
On that note, on Saturday, August 28th at 3:00 pm, we will be hosting a very special “Happy Hour Social” for our RCFE residents and their families. We are eager to share with you the many exterior renovations at Solheim. Save the date on your calendar – more details about this will be forthcoming! Furthermore, a reminder that friends and family members of our SNF residents are invited to have lunch with their loved ones any day of the week. We would just ask that you make a reservation at least one day in advance, to allow our dining services department to make appropriate preparations. To confirm a date or ask additional questions, please email Juan Gaytan (Activity Staff member) at jgaytan@solheimsenior.org.
Our renovations continue to move forward in our outdoor spaces, and I thank you all for your continuing patience and partnership as we work hard to refresh all of the beautiful outdoor spaces around campus. I’m very pleased to reiterate that we are entering the final phases of all of these exciting projects!
For visitations throughout campus—from our Health Center, to our Residential and Assisted Living Campus, to our Halvorson Memory Care Neighborhood—we also still ask for your continued partnership and diligence in continuing to follow all of these important rules, until further notice:
Our recommended visitation hours are 10am – 4pm daily, however if you are visiting outside regular business hours, please know you will be entering our campus through our Health Center doors;
All visitors must still continue to check in when they arrive on campus (including temperature and screening questions) and sign our COVID-19 waiver;
We ask that all visitors wear masks and practice social distancing;
All residents, regardless of vaccination status, may have “in-room” visits;
Any personal “in-room” visits in our Health Center should be scheduled in common areas, or when the roommate is out of the room; and
We still continue to encourage outdoor visits or visits in our common areas as much as possible.
As of today’s writing, I am very happy to report that we have no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 anywhere on campus.
