Weekly Update April 23, 2021
April 23, 2021
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
Our wonderful employees are the focus of this week’s update! At our All Staff Meeting yesterday, we celebrated 5 individuals who were recognized as “Employees of the Quarter”. Each of these employees will now be in the running for our “Employee of the Year” Award at the end of 2021! All of these individuals were nominated with kind words from residents, family members, and their colleagues, and it is clear that each shows real pride and joy in the work here at Solheim. We celebrate:
Blessie Ronidel—SNF Nursing Department
Edwin Hernandez—Dietary Department
Joselito Palma—Facilities Department
Sabrina Roman—Administration Department
Sheila Lucas—RCFE Nursing Department
I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who participated for taking the time to share their appreciation! Nominations are now open for our 2nd Quarter “Employees of the Quarter,” and Residents may nominate an employee with cards that are available at our nursing stations and the front desk, or by filling out the form on our website, which is always available online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition. Your kind words mean the world to our employees!
I’d also like to report that we have two well deserved promotions within our team. Marissa Pinto has worked her way up from RN Supervisor to Assistant Director of Nursing, and we are now delighted to announce that she has been promoted to our Director of Nursing. I am particularly grateful for Marissa’s longevity of service and her admirable dedication to providing excellent care to the residents of Solheim. Erica Castillo Tamayo has also just been promoted to the position of Environmental Services Supervisor, just shy of her fifth anniversary of employment here at Solheim. We congratulate both of these tremendous employees on their well-deserved promotions!
Finally, we are preparing to celebrate all our staff during “National Nursing Home Week”—which this year falls between May 10th and May 14th. We have a variety of fun and exciting themed celebrations planned, and lunch will be served for all of our staff each day during that week. If the spirit moves you, you may show your appreciation by either donating towards these meals, or by sponsoring a full day (~$1,500-$2,000). As of today’s writing, I am very happy to report that we have no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 anywhere on campus.
