Weekly Update April 16, 2021
April 16, 2021
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
I am very pleased to report that we received 72 negative Covid test results last Sunday, and we accordingly re-opened our dining room and small group activities as of last Monday. As of today’s writing, I am very happy to report that we have no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 anywhere on campus.
Our first Employee of the Quarter will be announced at an All Staff meeting next week, and I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who participated for taking the time to share their appreciation! Residents may nominate an employee with cards that are available at our nursing stations and the front desk, or by filling out the form on our website, which is always available online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition. Your kind words mean the world to our employees!
Our indoor renovation projects also continue to move forward, with new flooring and re-painting scheduled for our Solarium in the Halvorson Memory Care Neighborhood and another four rooms being renovated in the Health Center. We are continuing to refresh our patio spaces—which will hopefully provide a wonderful backdrop for many memorable upcoming outdoor spring and summer visits with our residents’ family and friends.
We have recently welcomed a number of new residents to our Solheim community! If you’d like more information about campus tours, please contact Lucy Laloyan at LucyL@solheimsenior.org
Finally, as a reminder, here are our current visitation guidelines (we appreciate your patience as we implement these guidelines, and, as always, we ask for your partnership and diligence in following these rules):
All visitors must still continue to wear masks at all times, practice social distancing, and schedule your visit with Kathy Rust at KathyR@solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition
All residents, regardless of vaccination status, may have “in-room” visits, but must continue to social distance;
If a resident has been fully vaccinated, and all of their visitors have also been fully vaccinated, then limited direct physical contact (i.e., a hug, touching, assistance with care needs, etc.) is also permissible;
Any personal “in-room” visits in our Health Center should be scheduled in common areas, or when the roommate is out of the room;
All visitors must still continue check in when they arrive on campus (including temperature and screening questions) and sign our COVID-19 waiver;
We will still continue to limit visits to 30 minutes maximum, whenever possible; and
We still continue to encourage outdoor visits or visits in our common areas as much as possible
