Weekly Update May 23, 2025

May 23, 2025

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

This week, we take a moment to reflect on Memorial Day—a time to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifices have granted us the freedoms we enjoy today, and we are grateful. Whether you spent the day in quiet reflection or in the company of loved ones, we hope it was meaningful and filled with appreciation.

Though summer doesn’t officially begin until next month, Memorial Day always feels like the season’s unofficial start. With the beautiful weather, outdoor barbecues, and time spent with family and friends, the energy around Solheim has been vibrant and joyful.

Speaking of joy, our outing today to Descanso Gardens was simply wonderful! It was fantastic to get out and enjoy the fresh air, and the gardens were in full bloom. The weather was perfect, and the smiles and conversation made the day even more special.

As shared during our recent Resident Town Hall, we’re excited to enhance our Resident Referral Program. If you refer someone who moves into Solheim, both you and your friend will receive $1,500 off your fee. It’s a lovely way to help grow our community with people you know and love—and be rewarded for it! For more information, please contact Emily Pierce, our Sales Counselor, at epierce@solheimsenior.org or reach out through the front desk.

We also want to remind everyone of the importance of submitting Work Orders for any maintenance or support needs. For non-urgent requests, Work Order forms are available at the Front Desk and Nursing Stations. Our team aims to address all requests within 72 hours. For emergencies—such as leaks or overflowing sinks—please report them immediately so we can respond promptly.

Be sure to check your monthly, weekly, and daily calendars for the full lineup of activities and events. Don’t forget to tune in to Channel 1390, our in-house TV station, for real-time updates. June is just around the corner and will be full of opportunities to engage, connect, and celebrate together!

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
