Weekly Update May 9, 2025
May 9, 2025
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
This weekend, we honor Mother’s Day—a time to reflect on and celebrate the powerful influence of mothers and maternal figures in our lives. More than a holiday, it’s a moment to recognize the enduring strength, compassion, and wisdom that women bring to their families and communities. Whether it’s a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, or a cherished mentor who has provided guidance and love, their presence shapes who we are in countless ways. At Solheim, we are especially grateful for the mothers and nurturing spirits among us who have given so much to others throughout their lives. We wish all of them a beautiful and meaningful Mother’s Day—you deserve to be celebrated every day.
May is always one of the busiest and most joyful months of the year, and next week we’ll be celebrating our amazing team during Team Member Appreciation Week. Each day will feature a themed dress-up opportunity paired with a special treat, meal, or event to bring fun and connection to the week. These daily celebrations are designed not only to add some cheer to the workday but also to show our sincere appreciation for the staff who make Solheim such a caring and vibrant place to live and work.
A sincere thank you goes out to everyone who has already donated in support of this week. Your generosity is making a real difference, and we are deeply appreciative. This is also a wonderful time to express your personal thanks—one easy and meaningful way to do this is by filling out a “Solheim Feeling” employee recognition form, available at any nursing station, the front desk, or online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition.
As the Merton Manor Refresh nears completion, our next focus will be upgrading the dining room carpet. We will keep everyone informed as plans are finalized and will do our best to minimize disruption during the process. As weather allows, we’ll continue to offer enjoyable shared meals in welcoming indoor and outdoor spaces.
With so much happening this month, we encourage everyone to stay connected. Please check your monthly, weekly, and daily calendars for full details on activities and events, and don’t forget to tune in to Channel 1390, our in-house TV station, for real-time updates. There are plenty of opportunities to engage, connect, and celebrate together throughout May.
All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
