Weekly Update April 25, 2025

April 25, 2025

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

As spring continues to blossom around us, the spirit of renewal brings fresh energy to our Solheim community. We are grateful each day for the kindness, laughter, and shared sense of purpose that fill our halls. This season reminds us to pause and appreciate the vibrant life we share here.

We have a few updates to share as our campus continues to evolve and improve. The puzzle table has been temporarily moved to the Navigage Room while renovations are underway to refresh the reading area outside the Chapel. Once completed, the table will return to its familiar spot, and we appreciate your patience during this enhancement.

We are also excited to announce that the Community Computer is back and ready for use! Located on the first floor between the Merton and Manor buildings, near the hydration station by Meg’s office, this computer is available for all residents who wish to browse the internet, send emails, connect with family, or work on personal projects. Whether you want to catch up on the news, look at photos from loved ones, or simply explore online resources, the Community Computer is there for you. Staff are happy to assist anyone who may need help getting started.

As you walk the halls, you might notice something new—over 50 paintings have been refreshed and installed throughout the first and second floors. These beautiful, moveable works of art are bringing fresh color and vibrancy to our community, and we look forward to periodically rotating the artwork to keep our hallways inspiring and new.

It’s going to be a busy and lively May! We’ll kick things off by celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a festive performance featuring live mariachi music and folklórico dancers on the Skilled Nursing patio at 2:00 PM. We hope to see many of you there enjoying the music, dancing, and spirit of the day.

Looking further ahead, we are excited to share that Team Member Appreciation Week will be held from May 11th through 17th. This is a special time for us to recognize the extraordinary people who make Solheim feel like home. Opportunities to sponsor activities for the week will be forthcoming, and we invite you to join us in showing gratitude for all that our team members do. If you would like to support these efforts or contribute to our broader community programs, please visit our giving page at www.solheimsenior.org/donate. Every gift, large or small, makes a lasting difference.

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
