Weekly Update April 11, 2025
April 11, 2025
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
We were delighted to share at yesterday’s Resident Town Hall that Ross Swing will once again serve as Chair of the Resident Council, with Tom Cox as Vice Chair and Carol Hayes as Treasurer. Their dedication to the community is deeply appreciated, and we’re excited for the thoughtful leadership they will bring to the year ahead. Town Hall Meetings are a great way to stay involved and have your voice heard—we hope you’ll join us each month to share ideas, ask questions, and connect with your neighbors.
Looking ahead, we’re pleased to invite up to two family members per resident to a special Easter Lunch at 12:30 pm on Sunday, April 20th. This joyful gathering will be a wonderful way to celebrate the season together. The cost is $33 per guest, and RSVPs are needed by Friday, April 18th. If you’d like to reserve a spot, please reach out to Ashley Brayman at abrayman@solheimsenior.org.
With spring in full bloom, we’re excited to offer outdoor dining on the patio just outside the alcove. If you’d like to enjoy your lunch or supper in the fresh air, simply let your server know when you arrive. There’s something truly uplifting about a meal shared in the fresh air—feeling the breeze, soaking up the sunshine, and enjoying the beauty around us can brighten the spirit and nourish the soul.
We’re also enjoying seeing more family and friends around campus these days! Their presence brings so much joy, especially outdoors where laughter and conversation seem to carry a little farther. As a friendly reminder, please avoid parking in the loading zone at our front entrance, as that space needs to remain clear for safe drop-offs and pick-ups. Visitors are welcome to use the Skilled Nursing lot, park at the nearby Seventh-Day Adventist Church, or find a spot along the street. Thank you for keeping our community safe and accessible for all.
Don’t forget to check your monthly and weekly calendars for all the enriching activities available—from fitness classes and music to creative crafts, outings, worship, and so much more. If you’d like to stay up to date on a daily basis, tune in to In-House Channel 1390 for the latest on what’s happening across campus.
Lastly, we appreciate your patience and understanding as the first-floor painting and new carpet installation continue. The updates are coming along beautifully, and we’re grateful for your support as we work to make our shared home even more comfortable and welcoming.
All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
