Weekly Update January 17, 2025

January 17, 2025
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

We hope this update finds everyone well. Our thoughts continue to be with those affected by the recent wildfires. While Solheim remains outside the immediate fire zones, we extend our deepest empathy to our neighbors who are facing these challenges. Please remember to take care when outdoors, consider wearing masks due to air quality concerns, and prioritize your health and safety above all else.

As we navigate through this difficult period, we’re committed to maintaining a secure and comfortable environment. Enhanced air filtration measures are in place, and outdoor activities are being modified as needed to ensure everyone’s well-being. We encourage you to stay informed by checking Channel 1390 and the Weekly Informer regularly.  As a reminder, if you are not feeling well, please remain in your apartment, and let your charge nurse know.  We can have your meal delivered to you!

The Merton & Manor Refresh Project continues to progress smoothly. We’re pleased to share that work is now underway on the second floor of both buildings. Moldings are being installed on the first floor, adding an elegant touch to our refreshed spaces. While some areas may experience minor disruptions, we are taking steps to ensure accessibility remains a priority. Please note that apartment numbers, temporarily removed for painting, are displayed on the floor in front of each door for your convenience.

To accommodate these enhancements, artwork, corridor furniture, and hydration stations have been temporarily relocated. You can find monthly calendars in the Navigage Room for all upcoming activities. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to create a more vibrant and welcoming community for all.

Looking ahead, we have a variety of engaging events planned, as outlined in your monthly calendar. We encourage you to participate and enjoy the social opportunities available. Despite the current challenges, these activities are thoughtfully adapted to prioritize safety and well-being.

Thank you all for your patience, kindness, and resilience during this period of transformation and uncertainty. Together, we are building an even stronger and more compassionate community. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our staff.

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
