Weekly Update January 10, 2025

January 10, 2025
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

As we navigate through the challenges posed by the ongoing wildfires, we understand the mixed emotions and uncertainty many are experiencing. Although Solheim is not in the immediate vicinity of the fire zones, our empathy extends to those directly impacted. We are committed to supporting our neighboring communities by sharing resources, assisting displaced individuals, and lending support wherever needed.

At Solheim, your health and safety are our foremost concerns. To maintain a safe environment, we have enhanced our air filtration systems and modified outdoor activities accordingly. Despite these adversities, we will continue with our weekly activities, thoughtfully adjusted to prioritize well-being. For the most current information, please consult Solheim’s In-House Channel 1390 and the Weekly Informer.

We are also excited to announce progress in our community enhancements. The Merton & Manor Refresh Project has begun, with Phase 1 including the installation of new carpeting, fresh paint, and updated handrails on the 1st and 2nd floors. Accessibility remains a priority, and while the lobby, entrances, and resident rooms will be accessible, please note there may be minor disruptions as work continues near apartment doors. Apartment numbers have been temporarily removed for painting but are displayed on the floor in front of each door for your convenience.

For safety reasons, artwork, corridor furniture, and hydration stations have been temporarily relocated. You can find monthly calendars in the Navigage Room. We will keep you updated on when these items will be available again. Phase 1 is anticipated to take 10 weeks, with subsequent enhancements to the lobby planned in Phase 2. We will share more details as the project progresses.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and kindness during these times of transformation. Together, we are resilient, compassionate, and dedicated to fostering a stronger and more vibrant community.

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
