To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

I am delighted to share some exciting news about Solheim Senior Community’s recognition in Newsweek’s 2025 rankings of America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs). This year, we have achieved remarkable progress in our rankings:

·         National Ranking: We have climbed from 68th to 51st in the nation.

·         State Ranking: In California, we’ve advanced from 7th to 6th.

This achievement is a reflection of the unwavering dedication and hard work of our entire Solheim team—caregivers, staff, volunteers, and leadership. It also highlights our steadfast commitment to our mission of providing abundant living for older adults in a loving, faith-based community. We remain dedicated to enhancing the quality of care and services that have earned us this recognition, all while staying true to the values that define the "Solheim Feeling."

In addition to this wonderful news, I’d like to provide an update on our Merton and Manor Refresh project. As anyone who’s been through a remodel knows, it can be a fluid and ever-evolving process! Progress continues steadily:

·         On the second floors, we’re preparing for painting, with some areas already showing fresh coats on moldings and doors.

·         On the first floors, patching and moldings are nearing completion.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work to enhance the beauty and functionality of these spaces. While there may be minor disruptions along the way, we are prioritizing accessibility. For instance, during painting, apartment numbers are temporarily displayed on the floor in front of each door to ensure convenience.

Lastly, we are excited about the variety of engaging events on the horizon, as outlined in your monthly calendar. Just yesterday, our New Resident Welcome Committee hosted a wonderful gathering. Today, Chef Brooke and the dining team launched our new monthly Teaching Kitchen program, which celebrates seasonal ingredients and recipes. Residents had the chance to learn about blood oranges and create a delicious Blood Orange Fennel Salad with Blood Orange Dressing!

We encourage you to take advantage of these social and enriching opportunities that make life at Solheim so vibrant. Thank you for being part of this special community!

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
