Weekly Update November 22, 2024
November 22, 2024
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
As we step into the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, our community is buzzing with excitement and gratitude. Next Thursday, we’ll gather for our much-anticipated Thanksgiving Buffet, followed by the always-festive Christmas Tree Trimming on Tuesday, December 3rd, from 2:30 to 4:00 pm. Amid the holiday cheer, we’re also thrilled to announce that, following a recent office move, we’re ready to begin our Library remodel project—another reason to be thankful! We look forward to celebrating these special moments together as a community.
As shared during yesterday's Resident Town Hall and in individual conversations, we would like to remind you about the recent changes to our laundry schedule. To better serve you, laundry will now be picked up on a designated day of the week, Monday through Friday, across our Residential and Assisted Living Campus. We are communicating your specific day with you directly. This update allows us to provide more efficient and reliable service, ensuring that your needs are met in a timely manner.
Thank you for your cooperation as we implement this improvement. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Erica Tamayo at etamayo@solheimsenior.org or Meg Pierce at mpierce@solheimsenior.org.
We’d like to share a leadership transition in our Resident Health and Wellness team. Monique Montalvo, our Director of Resident Health and Wellness, has recently departed from Solheim Senior Community. We thank her for her contributions and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
We are pleased to announce that Mike Gonzalez, our Assistant Administrator, will now oversee Resident Health and Wellness. Mike brings a wealth of experience, a strong commitment to our community, and a desire to enhance the services we provide. His office will remain in the same location next to the Wellness Center for your convenience. Mike looks forward to working closely with residents and families to ensure continued excellence in care and service. Feel free to reach out to him with any questions or needs.6
Celebrating our staff is one of our greatest joys. Solheim’s employees are truly our most valuable asset, and their dedication is a key reason why we continue to shine as a 5-Star Campus. This holiday season, I invite you to honor their hard work by contributing towards our Employee Appreciation Fund by December 8th. You may visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate and choose Employee Appreciation, or drop a check or cash off at the front desk.
By contributing to our Employee Appreciation Fund, you’ll be directly supporting the dedicated team members who provide compassionate care to our residents every day. Since Solheim has a no-tipping policy, donations to this fund—whether now or throughout the year—offers a meaningful way to say thank you for their kindness, skill, and dedication. Our staff is truly Solheim's greatest asset, and your support and words of encouragement mean so much. Once again, visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate to donate by December 8th.
All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
