Weekly Update January 5, 2024
January 5, 2024
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
I am excited to be writing our first Weekly Update of 2024, because the new year always brings with it new opportunity, new hope, and a sense of peace, joy and happiness. And this new year also brings Solheim to our 2nd Century of Serving Seniors! We are looking forward to what 2024 has in store for us, and I’m happy to report that we’ve started off the year in a very strong position.
I’m very proud of our Solheim team, and I think it bears repeating: Solheim has been named one of “The Best Nursing Homes of 2024” by US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT, achieving an overall rating of 5 out of 5! In addition, Newsweek Magazine recently partnered with the highly-respected global research firm “Statista” to comprehensively assess and rank “America's Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities” – seeking to identify places where “residents not only live but thrive.” Out of more than 2,000 CCRCs that were reviewed from all across the nation, Solheim was ranked 68th in America, 8th in California, and 3rd in Los Angeles! We are thrilled to be recognized in this fashion, and I am immeasurably proud of our team and the entire Solheim family. What a great way to start 2024!
I want to take the opportunity to remind everyone that our “Refer-a-Friend” program is still underway! Any resident who refers a friend to Solheim will receive an incentive when that referral moves into our community and becomes part of the “Solheim Family.” And in fact, it’s even better than that: Both the current resident and the referred resident will also receive a $1,000 credit on their fourth month’s rent. Please contact Emily Pierce our Sales Specialist for more information about this program at 323-257-7518 or email epierce@solheimsenior.org.
Since we’re now in the middle of flu season, I’d also like to take the opportunity to remind you of our infection prevention protocols, which consist of wearing masks, frequent handwashing, and maintaining distance when in groups of people you do not know. We count on everyone doing their part in helping us remain healthy!
As of today, December 29th, and until further notice, all staff AND visitors, regardless of COVID-19 or influenza vaccination status, are required to wear a mask in our Health Center / Skilled Nursing campus. Masks will be provided at the Front Desk. All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.
