Weekly Update December 1, 2023
December 1, 2023
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
This year, first the first time ever, Newsweek Magazine has partnered with the highly-respected global research firm Statista to comprehensively rank “America's Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities” – identifying places where “residents not only live but thrive.” Out of more than 2,000 CCRCs from all across the nation, I’m extremely proud (but not surprised) to announce that Solheim Senior Community has been ranked 68th in America, 8th in California, and 3rd in Los Angeles! We are thrilled to be recognized in this fashion, and I am immeasurably proud of our team and the entire Solheim family. What a wonderful way to cap off our Centennial year!
As I mentioned last week, our staff is integral to the exceptional care that is provided here at Solheim. Their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts are the cornerstone of our community's well-being. In recognition of this, we warmly invite you to join us in showing your deep appreciation for their commitment. Every year at this time, we offer a meaningful way to express your gratitude: by contributing to the Employee Appreciation Fund. Your generous donations, which can be made until Friday, December 8th, will be distributed equally among our staff, serving as a tangible testament to your support and recognition of their invaluable service.
While expressions of gratitude can be shared through our “Solheim Feeling” Employee Recognition nomination cards available at the front desk and nursing stations, or online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition, a monetary gift elevates your appreciation to a tangible act of support. These contributions, regardless of size, go beyond mere financial assistance; they embody a powerful acknowledgment of the hard work, dedication, and heart our staff pour into their roles every day. To make your donation, please visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate and choose the Employee Appreciation option. Together, in this season of giving, let's unite to uplift and celebrate those who dedicate themselves to serving our community with such extraordinary devotion.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars and join us next Saturday, December 9th from 1pm-5pm for our Spirit of Giving Christmas Boutique. You’ll have an opportunity to visit vendor tables to purchase some wonderful Christmas gifts, and Santa himself will visit us between 1:30pm and 3:30pm… so be sure to bring your family for photos, and enjoy a festive afternoon with Christmas Carols, Sweets and Treats, and an opportunity to shop, while benefiting Solheim! If you know of a vendor who would like to participate, please contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenio.org or 323 257-7518 x225. Visit our event website for the vendor information at www.solheimsenior.org/christmasboutique ..
Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged from last week. All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.
You can always visit our website for more information at www.solheimsenior.org, but if you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
