Weekly Update November 3, 2023
November 3, 2023
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
It’s that time of year again-sweaters, boots and the end of Daylight-Saving Time! Don’t forget to change your clocks this Sunday November 5th as we fall back an hour. If you need help changing any clocks in your apartment, let the front desk, or your nursing staff know. This is also a perfect time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors!
We held our Centennial Masquerade Ball this past Saturday, and I want to thank everyone who took part in the fantastic evening! It was amazing to see everyone masked (and in the fun, Masquerade Ball way, not surgical masks), and enjoying an evening in celebration of Solheim’s 100 years of service to seniors. You may view the Centennial video we premiered that evening HERE, or visit www.solheimsenior.org/centennial-video.
Solheim was founded November 11, 1923, and I’ve heard many stories during my time at Solheim about your history and experiences. I’d like to hear more of those stories! So to help make that wish a reality, we’ve created a Centennial Hotline! Please feel free to call Solheim and ask for our Centennial Hotline [323-257-7518 (x246)] so you can leave a message for us! And we won’t just selfishly horde them for ourselves – your messages will also be used on our website, social media, or other promotional materials to spread the world about “The Solheim Feeling” as we enter our second century of serving seniors in Los Angeles. I’m looking forward to hearing your kind words, stories, your relationship, and how you came to know Solheim! Give us a call and leave us a message!
We are entering the season where we reflect on our blessings and give thanks. In the next couple weeks, you will have the opportunity to show your appreciation for our staff with the opportunity to offer a monetary donation, which will then be distributed equally among all staff. You may always offer kind words through our Solheim Feeling Employee Recognition nomination cards found at the front desk or nursing stations, or visit us online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition. These kind words mean the world to our staff! To make a monetary gift, visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate and choose Employee Appreciation.
Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged from last week. All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.
If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
