Our long-awaited Centennial Masquerade Ball will be held tomorrow, October 28th! I want to thank everyone who has participated, donated, or is planning to attend!  This event is sure to be the highlight of our Centennial Year celebrations.  There’s still time to help support our Centennial fundraising efforts.  Your donation of $150 helps us care for one resident a day through our Charitable Care fund…. $1000 covers a full week of care!  Solheim was founded in 1923 on the premise of caring for seniors, even when they didn’t have the resources, and we continue to strive to fulfill that mission today.  Visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate to make a gift towards our Centennial and Charitable Care Fund.  Please contact Tina Antypas if you’d like to learn more, or visit our centennial website at www.solheimsenior.org/100.

As I mentioned last week, Halloween decorations abound here at Solheim, and we’re really looking forward to some fun activities in the upcoming weeks.  This coming Tuesday is ourTrick-or-Treat” event.  Trick-or-Treaters are invited to stop by Solheim’s front lobby to show off their costumes, and they will receive candy lovingly packaged by our residents!  If you’d like to make a donation of candy (no suckers, starbursts, or skittles please), just drop them off at our front desk or leave them with Ashley Brayman. Our doors will be open to Trick-or-Treaters on Halloween from 6pm-8pm!

Also on Tuesday, we’ll hold our annual Halloween Costume Party at 2:30.  Staff and residents alike are strongly encouraged to wear your costumes, and please plan to join the contest and party at 2:30pm in the Health Center Patio.  We’re looking forward to seeing what unique costumes you all come up with this year!

As I mentioned last week, we have a Refer-a-Friend” program which is still underway!  Any resident who refers a friend to Solheim will receive an incentive when that referral moves into our community and becomes part of the “Solheim Family.” And in fact, it’s even better than that: Both the current resident and the referred resident will also receive a $1,000 credit on their fourth month’s rent.  Please contact Emily Pierce for more information about this program at 323-257-7518 or email epierce@solheimsenior.org.

Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged from last week.  All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
