We had a great turnout for our Oktoberfest this past Saturday with a nice mix of residents, family members, staff and community members!  The weather was beautiful, and it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the festivities.  Thank you to all who helped put this together, and a special thank you to our Council District 14 for donating our stage, tables and chairs for the event!

Our biggest fundraising event of the year is just around the corner.  Our “Centennial Masquerade Ballwill be held at the lovely La Canada-Flintridge Country Club on Saturday, October 28th from 6pm – 10pm.  Guests will have the pleasure of enjoying an evening of top-notch entertainment, delicious cuisine, and exciting auctionsAlthough our deadline for ticket purchases and advertising opportunities is scheduled for September 30th, we’re able to hold this open for another week and a half!  If you’re not able to attend, please consider purchasing a congratulatory ad in our event Tribute Program!  For more information, visit www.solheimsenior.or/masqueradeball. Contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org or call 323 257 7518 x225.  This not to be missed event is a highlight of our Centennial year of celebrations, and funds raised offer immediate resources that are directed to urgent needs at Solheim.  I hope you will consider joining us!

As I mentioned last week, our annual Resident Satisfaction Survey is underway.  This year, we are offering the survey digitally (it is MUCH easier for us to process the results that way) – but rest assured we will be happy to assist you in any way that we can.  If you haven’t already done so, you may visit the front desk and fill out the survey on the spot.  A separate email has been sent out with the survey link to our residents (or their Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare) These surveys are an important tool for Solheim to get a sense of how it is doing in the eyes of our residents, and to help us identify any areas in which we can strive to improve next year. This formal survey will provide us with a good baseline for starting 2024 with a focus on continuing to improve our operations.

Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged from last week.  All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
