Tomorrow marks the first day of Fall, and it’s certainly starting to feel like it!  Although it’s warming up a bit this weekend, you can already feel the crispness creeping into the evening air, and here at Solheim our campus is slowly transitioning into Fall decorations. (I won’t even mention the fact that Christmas décor is already starting to show up in stores… let’s all just enjoy Fall first!)

We had a wonderful turnout for the movie “The Mission,” which was hosted by Solheim Lutheran Church last Friday!  Thank you to all who participated – we hope to be able to do something like that again soon!

We’re gearing up for “Oktoberfest,” which is taking place tomorrow from 5pm - 9pm in our Skilled Nursing parking lot.  The $10 entrance fee is waived for residents, although food and drink tickets must be separately purchased if you are interested in eating or drinking.  If you intend on participating, please be sure to RSVP at the front desk.  For guests and our general community, the entrance price at the door is $15.  A menu and pricing is located at the front desk.  You may contact Tina Antypas for more information or visit www.solheimsenior.org/oktoberfest -- get your tickets now!

We also kicked off our annual Resident Satisfaction Survey this past Tuesday.  This year, we will be offering the survey digitally (it is MUCH easier for us to process the results that way) – but rest assured we will be happy to assist you in any way that we can.  If you haven’t already done so, you may visit the front desk and fill out the survey on the spot.  A separate email has been sent out with the survey link to our residents (or their Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare) These surveys are an important tool for Solheim to get a sense of how it is doing in the eyes of our residents, and to help us identify any areas in which we can strive to improve next year. This formal survey will provide us with a good baseline for starting 2024 with a focus on continuing to improve our operations.

Invitations have now been mailed out for our upcomingCentennial Masquerade Ball,” which will be held at the lovely La Canada-Flintridge Country Club on Saturday, October 28th from 6pm – 10pm. Please visit www.solheimsenior.org/masqueradeball for more information, or to purchase your tickets.  Advertising spots are still available in our Centennial Program, and tickets may be purchased through September 30th.  Be sure to get yours before our deadline passes! We look forward to you joining us as we celebrate serving in our community for 100 years!

Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged from last week.  All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
