Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From:
Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

I’ve heard that many of you are pleased to have the Disney channels back on our Spectrum network!  I am also pleased to have the final touches on our internet and cable TV project nearly completed!  We have distributed a new Channel Guide to each resident, and we have additional copies also available for you at the front desk.  I want to thank everyone for your patience while we worked to get this completed.  Please let your nursing station or the front desk know of any issues, and we will get a work order submitted right away.  If you would like one-on-one instruction or help, please be sure to submit a work order, as this will help in scheduling Spenser’s time!

Tonight, at 6:30pm, Solheim Lutheran Church will be hosting a viewing of the movie, “The Mission” and many of you have already reserved your spot.  This Oscar Winning PG-rated film with a star-studded cast takes place deep in the jungles of South America, where two men have been engaging in missionary work. Now, after years of struggle together, they find themselves on opposite sides in a dramatic fight for the natives' independence. One will trust in the power of prayer, while the one will put stock in the might of the sword… it promises to be an exciting movie presentation, and everyone is welcome!

Our annual “Resident Satisfaction Survey” is just around the corner.  This year, we will be offering this survey digitally – but rest assured, we will still be having a Survey Kick-Off event Tuesday September 19th at 3pm, and we will be happy to assist you in any way that we can.  These surveys will be available for our residents (or their Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare) following our kick-off event.  These surveys are an important tool for Solheim to get a sense of how it is doing in the eyes of our residents, and to help us identify any areas in which we can strive to improve next year. This formal survey will provide us with a good baseline for starting 2024 with a focus on continuing to improve our operations.

The Eagle Rock Oktoberfest hosted by Solheim is scheduled for Saturday September 23rd from 5pm-9pm in our Skilled Nursing Parking Lot.  The $10 entrance fee is waived for residents, although food and drink tickets must be purchased if you are interested in eating or drinking.  You may contact the front desk or Tina Antypas for more information.

Invitations have been mailed out for our Centennial Masquerade Ball.  Visit www.solheimsenior.org/masqueradeball for more information or to purchase your tickets.  This event will be held at the beautiful La Canada Flintridge Country Club on Saturday October 28th from 6pm-10pm.  Join us as we celebrate serving in our community for 100 years!

Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged from last week.  All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.

You can always visit our website for more information at www.solheimsenior.org, but if you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
