To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
What a fun way to wrap up October! We enjoyed a wonderful Halloween Costume Contest this afternoon, with plenty of creativity, laughter and familiar characters roaming the halls of Solheim! There seemed to be a fast-food theme among our staff this year, with appearances by Ronald McDonald, Grimace, the Hamburglar, Colonel Sanders and even a chicken! We also spotted Minions, wizards, a clown and a few furry friends. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped bring some Halloween fun and smiles to our community!
It's moments like these that remind us how much our dedicated team members contribute to the Solheim Feeling. Their enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to join in the fun make everyday life more enjoyable for our residents. As we approach the holiday season, it's also a wonderful time to show our appreciation! Solheim's Employee Appreciation Fund is open year-round, but year-end gifts are especially meaningful as we recognize the many team members who care for and support our community. To contribute, visit www.solheimsenior.org/employee-donate.
Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 1, at 2:00 a.m., so remember to set your clocks BACK one hour before going to bed Saturday night! While many cell phones, computers and digital clocks adjust automatically, others will need to be changed manually. If you need assistance, please let the Front Desk or your nursing staff know.
Our Resident Satisfaction Survey is underway, and we want to hear from YOU! Your feedback helps us understand what's working well and where we can improve, from dining and activities to maintenance, healthcare and overall community life. Surveys can be completed in person or digitally, with assistance available as needed. Please be sure to submit your survey by Friday, November 13! Every voice matters, and we encourage all residents to participate.
With rain in the forecast, we also remind everyone to use extra caution when walking outdoors or through wet areas, as surfaces may become slippery. As temperatures begin to cool, if you need assistance adjusting your apartment thermostat, please contact the Front Desk or your nursing staff. Your safety and comfort are always a priority!
As always, check your monthly activity calendar, Weekly Informers, Daily Sheets and in-house Channel 1390 for more opportunities to connect, participate and enjoy the abundant living we celebrate at Solheim. Wishing everyone a wonderful start to November!
Masks for all visitors to our campus will be available upon request. To best ensure the safety of our residents and patients during the upcoming Respiratory Virus Season, all Healthcare Personnel (regardless of vaccination status) are required to wear a mask when working in patient care areas. The virus season starts on November 1, 2026 and ends on March 31, 2027.
