Weekly Update December 2, 2022

December 2, 2022

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

I hope everyone enjoyed the festive Tree Trimming in our Residential Dining Room yesterday! It certainly is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around campus! My favorite part was putting new hooks on the ornaments as we got them out of the boxes!

Thank you to those who’ve been able to return your Resident Satisfaction Survey. Please note that we have extended our deadline to return your Resident Satisfaction Survey, if you have received one, to next Friday December 9th. These surveys are a very important tool for Solheim to get a sense of how we are doing in the eyes of our residents. Your responses provide us with critical information that is necessary to fulfill our mission statement: “To provide abundant living for older adults in a caring faith-based community filled with love, peace, dignity, and security.”

Once a year, you can show your appreciation for our staff by making a monetary donation to our Employee Appreciation Fund, which will then be distributed equally among all staff. You may always offer kind words through our Solheim Feeling Employee Recognition nomination cards found at the front desk or nursing stations, or visit us online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition. These kind words mean the world to our staff! To make a monetary gift, visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate or contact Tina Antypas.

Visitation Guidelines have changed in our Health Center beginning 12/7.  The following guidelines apply:

  • All visitors will be screened for a recent diagnosis of COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19 infection, and close contact exposure.

  • On Wednesday 12/7, all visitors to our Health Center are required to provide proof of negative COVID-19 test within 24 hours of their visit. Solheim will provide rapid tests at the front desk during our visiting hours from 9am to 4:30pm.

  • Beginning 12/2, all employees in our Health Center must wear N95 respirators in all areas of the Health Center

We have no new residents or staff who have tested positive for COVID-19.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
