Weekly Update September 2, 2022
September 2, 2022
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
With the extremely hot temperatures we’re experiencing, I can’t stress enough the importance of keeping hydrated! Please make sure to drink enough fluids throughout the day, and we have hydration stations throughout campus for your convenience. Also, if you experience issues with your air conditioning in your apartment, please let your nurses or the front desk know immediately!
As we focus on our community theme of “Abundant Living” we’re looking for ways to support our residents with living the best life possible. A life of purpose, dignity, and joy! Your life experiences have shaped the person you are now, and we want to get to KNOW you more fully as we focus on enhancing the person-centered culture here at Solheim. I’m always amazed at the stories our residents have to share.
We’ve created a form where you can share your life story with us, which will help guide us in creating experiences that are meaningful to you and your loved ones. Please take the time to complete this form, and return it to the front desk by September 30th. If you need help in filling out this form, just let us know! You may also find it at www.solheimsenior.org/lifestory. Just save your input and email to abrayman@solheimsenior.org.
Tickets are now available for the Eagle Rock Oktoberfest hosted right here at Solheim on Saturday September 24th from 5pm -9pm. Visit www.solheimsenior.org/oktoberfest for more information or download the flyer HERE. It is a true German feast, with authentic German Beer, and live music by the band Bavarian Stew. And don’t forget that on October 22 we’ll be hosting our 2nd Solheim Soiree-Paint-n-Sip event, which was a huge success last year! Visit www.solheimsenior.org/paint-n-sip to become a sponsor, or to purchase your tickets! You don’t have to be an artist to participate!
Our visitation guidelines remain the same as last week (please be aware that we stop offering rapid tests at 4:30pm). If you come to visit after that time, we ask that you provide your own proof of a negative Covid-19 test result from within the past 48 hours. Our current visitation guidelines are:
All visitors in our Residential, Assisted and Memory Care levels of living on campus may visit indoors if the visitor is fully vaccinated OR provides proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.
All visitors in our Health Center (SNF), including essential visitors who were previously exempt from all visitor testing requirements, must provide one of the following prior to entering the facility for all indoor and in-room visits, REGARDLESS of vaccination status: a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.
Testing is not required for OUTDOOR visitation.
Visitors must always wear a facemask during the visitation and physically distance themselves from facility staff and other residents and visitors that are not part of their group at all times during the visit.
I am pleased to say that a as of today we have no new residents or staff who have tested positive for COVID-19.
