Weekly Update August 26, 2022

August 26, 2022

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

It is with mixed emotions that I share with you the news that Lucy Laloyan (Director of Sales) has decided to take an opportunity elsewhere to advance her career.  Lucy has been with Solheim for 5 ½ years, and she has had a tremendous positive impact on Solheim during her tenure.  Today is Lucy’s last day, and we wish her well on this next chapter!  Should you have any sales- or marketing-related questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Mamie Cornett (Director of Marketing).

I hinted a month or so ago that our Eagle Rock Oktoberfest hosted right here at Solheim was on the calendar for Saturday September 24th from 5pm -9pm, and tickets are now available!  Visit www.solheimsenior.org/oktoberfest for more information.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, I haven’t yet had the pleasure of participating in any of the previous Oktoberfest celebrations that have been held here at Solheim, but I understand that it is a true German feast, with authentic German Beer and live music by the band “Bavarian Stew”! I can’t wait!  Look out for a separate email with more specifics which will be going out in the next week or two or contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org

Our Leadership Team voted earlier this year to select a 2022 theme for our community: “Abundant Living.  Solheim was founded nearly 100 years ago to serve our wonderful residents (as our mission statement states), and that remains our primary mission today.  Working hard to provide a meaningful, purposeful, and joyful life for our residents and their families, as well as our kind and caring staff – I think that’s truly what “Abundant Living” is all about!

I invite you all to help us celebrate and embody this 2022 theme as we move forward throughout the rest of the year.  You can do so by sharing your recognition of those good deeds, tangible acts of kindness, extraordinary care, and love shown by our staff.  Nominations for our “Employee of the Quarter“ are always welcome, and the “Solheim Feeling” nomination card can also be found at nursing stations or at our front desk, or you can fill one out online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition.  Your kind words help our staff to better appreciate just how their everyday acts of kindness and compassion help to foster an environment of “Abundant Living” for all of our residents!

Our visitation guidelines remain the same as last week (please be aware that we stop offering rapid tests at 4:30pm).  If you come to visit after that time, we ask that you provide your own proof of a negative Covid-19 test result from within the past 48 hours. Our current visitation guidelines are:

  • All visitors in our Residential, Assisted and Memory Care levels of living on campus may visit indoors if the visitor is fully vaccinated OR provides proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.

  • All visitors in our Health Center (SNF), including essential visitors who were previously exempt from all visitor testing requirements, must provide one of the following prior to entering the facility for all indoor and in-room visits, REGARDLESS of vaccination status: a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.

  • Testing is not required for OUTDOOR visitation.

  • Visitors must always wear a facemask during the visitation and physically distance themselves from facility staff and other residents and visitors that are not part of their group at all times during the visit.

A as of today we have one non direct care staff member in our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) who has tested positive for COVID-19.  If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
