Weekly Update July 15, 2022

July 15, 2022

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

I’m pleased to announce our resident mailboxes in our Residential and Assisted Living campus are now complete.  We will be putting the finishing touches on them, assigning them, and getting keys distributed next week.  Thank you for your patience while we made this much needed upgrade!

It was nice to see our residents enjoying root beer floats in the breezeway earlier this week!  I know I’ve mentioned several times how important it is to hydrate!  There’s nothing more fun than hydrating with a nice cold root beer float!  Look for more of this over the summer months and remember to KEEP HYDRATED!

Last year’s Paint-n-Sip fundraiser was a huge success, and might I add, a lot of fun, so we’re doing it again!  If you would like to sponsor our event, visit www.solheimsenior.org/paing-n-sip or reach out to Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org.  This event will be held on Saturday October 22, 2022, from 7pm-9pm.  I’d also recommend you mark your calendars to save the date for our Oktoberfest!  This event will be Saturday September 24th, and although I’ve not had a chance to participate yet, I hear it’s a place to enjoy some good traditional German food, a live Bavarian Band, and of course some cold German beer!  These activities are open to the community, and we encourage you to share these dates with your friends and family!  For more information on either of these, contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org.

Our visitation guidelines remain the same as last week (please be aware that we stop offering rapid tests at 4:30pm).  If you come to visit after that time, we ask that you provide your own proof of a negative Covid-19 test result from within the past 48 hours.  I sincerely thank you for your patience, as our guidelines will likely continue to evolve considering changing regulatory guidance. Our current visitation guidelines are:

  • All visitors in our Residential, Assisted and Memory Care levels of living on campus may visit indoors if the visitor is fully vaccinated OR provides proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.

  • All visitors in our Health Center (SNF), including essential visitors who were previously exempt from all visitor testing requirements, must provide one of the following prior to entering the facility for all indoor and in-room visits, REGARDLESS of vaccination status: a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.

  • Testing is not required for OUTDOOR visitation.

  • Visitors must always wear a facemask during the visitation and physically distance themselves from facility staff and other residents and visitors that are not part of their group at all times during the visit.

  • Alternative communication such as phone calls, video calls, and online communication is always available.

As of today’s writing, we have no new residents or staff who have tested positive for COVID-19.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
