May 8, 2026

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

May is already bringing many opportunities for celebration, connection, and shared experiences throughout our community. From lively gatherings to simple moments spent together, this season reminds us how important it is to stay engaged with one another and enjoy the many traditions that make Solheim such a vibrant place to call home.

This past Tuesday, our community came alive with the joyful sounds and vibrant traditions of Cinco de Mayo as residents enjoyed a festive celebration featuring a mariachi band and traditional dancers. The music, color, and energy created a wonderful afternoon filled with smiles and shared celebration. This Friday morning, residents also enjoyed a specialty coffee bar hosted in the front lobby, creating another opportunity to gather and connect as a community.

As we approach Mother’s Day this weekend, we take time to honor mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, mentors, and all mother figures whose love, strength, and compassion shape our lives and communities. We also recognize that this holiday can bring mixed emotions and may be difficult for some. During this time, we encourage everyone to extend extra kindness, patience, and compassion to one another. Sometimes the smallest gestures can mean the most.

This week we also celebrated Team Member Appreciation Week, and what a joyful celebration it has been. Throughout the week, we hosted special treats and gatherings to recognize our incredible team, including coffee, smoothies, pizza, and tacos. Each day was an opportunity to celebrate the people who bring care, compassion, professionalism, and heart to Solheim.

Our employees are at the center of everything we do. Their hard work, dedication, and daily acts of kindness help Solheim live out its mission of caring compassionately for residents, families, and one another. Whether providing direct care, preparing meals, maintaining our campus, or supporting residents behind the scenes, each team member plays an essential role in creating the Solheim Feeling that makes this community so special.

As Team Member Appreciation Week comes to a close, we invite residents, families, and friends to join us in one final expression of gratitude. Contributions made in honor of our team help create meaningful moments of recognition and appreciation for those who give so much each day. If you would still like to contribute, contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org.

There is always something happening at Solheim, and we encourage everyone to check the activity calendar for the many weekly programs, events, and opportunities to connect. Be sure not to miss all there is to offer.

Masks for all visitors to our campus will be available upon request.
