Weekly Update March 6, 2026

March 6, 2026

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

This week we honored our amazing employees and recognized our Employees of the 4th Quarter of 2025 for their dedication and kindness. Congratulations to Bertila Jandres (Skilled Nursing Campus), Sarah Chapman (Dining Services), Michelle Warrick (Activities), Adela Pineda (Housekeeping), and Lynette Cordero (Residential Care Campus, including Halvorson Memory Care and Residential/Assisted Living). Each of these team members goes above and beyond, helping make Solheim a warm and welcoming home for so many.

We also celebrate our Employee of the Year, Ariel Sales from our Facilities Department. As Facilities Special Technician, Ariel supports many of our construction and renovation projects. Over the past year he helped transform the Sun Room into the Sun Room Library, remodeled the bathrooms outside the Chapel and the Marketing Office, and completed numerous apartment renovations across campus. We are blessed to have Ariel sharing his talents with our community. If you see any of these team members, please take a moment to congratulate and thank them.

As we near the end of the first quarter of 2026, please consider submitting nominations for our next Employees of the Quarter through the Shining Star Employee Recognition program. Forms are available at the Front Desk and nursing stations, or nominations may be submitted online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition.

Next week we will hold our Resident Council and Town Hall meetings, along with elections for Resident Council representatives. The Resident Council provides residents with a voice in matters affecting our community. As outlined in the Residents’ Association Bylaws, the Council’s purpose is to:

  • Provide residents with a greater voice in matters of concern and interest

  • Maintain open communication between residents and staff for the benefit of all

  • Recommend improvements and assist administration in enhancing services and programs

  • Foster friendship, charity, and understanding while upholding Solheim’s tradition of “Harmonious Living”

We appreciate the dedication of our Council members and look forward to another year of collaboration. If you or someone you know would like to serve, please contact Ashley Brayman at abrayman@solheimsenior.org.

Our office hours are now extended until 6:00 p.m. to better accommodate families and visitors.

Reminder: Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend. Please set your clocks forward one hour on Saturday evening before going to bed. Many clocks and devices will update automatically, but some may need to be adjusted manually. If you need help changing your clock, please let the Front Desk or your nursing station know and a team member will be happy to assist.

All staff working on our Skilled Nursing Campus are required to wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to the Health Center are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test prior to entry.

Questions may be directed to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 extension 225 or at tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
