Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

We certainly had beautiful weather for the 4th of July holiday, and I’ve seen many people enjoying our outdoor spaces recently – I’m so pleased about that!  With hot weather (finally) here, we’ll be making a slight change to our dining menu.  During the Summer months, we will forego offering a hot soup on our daily menu.  Rest assured, however, that we will continue offering our ‘Always Available’ menu – and of course all our offerings consist of nutritious and tasty meals that are always prepared fresh when ordered!

As a reminder, our Resident Council Meeting will be held next Tuesday at 10:00 am, and we still have openings for council members available.  Please let Ashley Brayman know if you would like to serve your fellow residents as a council member!  We will follow that meeting with a Resident Town Hall meeting on Thursday at 10am in our Residential Dining Room.  If you haven’t been, or haven’t been in a while, please consider joining us!  The purpose of these meetings is to share important updates from the community, and we always look forward to seeing you there!

We are now just a few short months away from our Centennial Masquerade Ball celebration, which will be held at the beautiful La Canada Flintridge Country Club on Saturday October 28th from 6pm -10pm.  Our deadline for sponsorships and underwriting opportunities is quickly approaching, and I’d encourage everyone to at least consider becoming a sponsor or underwriter.  As Solheim celebrates “100 years of serving seniors,” we really want to share this incredible milestone with our residents, staff, family members and greater community.  Learn more, and become a sponsor by visiting www.solheimsenior.org/masqueradeball or contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org

Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged from last week.  Masks are no longer required for residents, team members, or visitors, although they are still recommended or encouraged.  Masks are still required for all team members and visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing).  All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.  We ask all staff and visitors to confirm the following upon entry:

  • Currently have no known COVID-19 infection;

  • Not experiencing symptoms associated with possible COVID-19 infection; and

  • Have not had close contact, within the last 14 days, with another person known to have a COVID-19 infection

As of today, we have no new staff or residents who have tested positive for Covid-19. If
