Weekly Update November 14, 2025
November 14, 2025
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
With the rain and cooler weather, you might think winter has arrived. But as we mentioned last week, Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we are delighted to invite residents to bring up to two family members for our Thanksgiving Buffet on Thursday, November 27th, at 12:00 pm. The cost is $35 per guest. Invitations have been sent, so please be sure to RSVP by Wednesday, November 19th. To reserve your seats or request more information, please contact Ashley Brayman at abrayman@solheimsenior.org or call 323-257-7518 x224.
We have so much to be grateful for here at Solheim. We are thankful for our remarkable community of residents, families, staff, and friends, whose kindness, support, and spirit make Solheim such a special place to live and work. This past week we honored our Veterans, and earlier today we enjoyed a wonderful Fall Farmer’s Market. We are grateful for the abundance of activities thoughtfully curated for our residents and for the meaning and joy these moments bring. We are appreciative of our Board of Directors for their steady guidance, and of our generous donors, whose support strengthens our mission and allows us to continue serving with excellence.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who has contributed to the Employee Appreciation Fund. The deadline for contributions is Friday, December 5th. Because tipping is not permitted, this fund offers a meaningful way to express gratitude to our dedicated staff. A suggested contribution of $300 per family helps us meet our goal, but every gift—large or small—is truly appreciated. Contributions can be made easily at www.solheimsenior.org/donate or contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org or call 323-257-7518 x 225.
As the rain continues and temperatures cool, please take extra care when walking outside. If you experience any issues with the heating in your apartment, notify your nursing staff or the front desk right away. Your comfort and safety remain our top priority.
Finally, we appreciate your patience and understanding as the Merton and Manor Refresh Project continues. Updates are shared regularly as each phase progresses, and you can find important details in the In-House Memos. The finish line is in sight, and we look forward to celebrating the completion of the project before the holidays arrive.
All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
